Ulsan is a city alive with beautiful sceneries and splendid cultural heritages including nature-endowed port, magnificent mountains and Taehwa River which runs through the city.

Ulsan has made a remarkable progress over the past 40 years since it was designated as the heavy and chemical industrial complex to use its geographical advantages when the first national economic development project initiated in 1962.  As a result, Ulsan is called the 'Mecca of Korea's industries.'

However, with a shifting trend in industrialization, the future of Ulsan's industrial development is faced with numerous tasks that compel us to upgrade the current heavy and chemical industries, to attract high-tech industries, and develop into multi-industrial complex which can pursue the balanced growth between the large companies and SMEs.
